Key Staff
Rodney Boucher has a First Class Honours and PhD in structural geology. After starting out in the petroleum industry with PIRSA, he established Linex Pty Ltd in 1997 which focused on gold exploration in central Victoria. Linex’s core logging and interpretation system is being utilised across Victoria, including mines at Bendigo, Ballarat and Fosterville. Additionally Linex has consulted for exploration for Cu-Au, base metals and IOCGU exploration in all states in addition to assisting in the first geothermal exploration in the country. Rodney was involved in the final drill site selection for the Carrapateena discovery near Olympic Dam. Rodney continues to lecture at La Trobe University which he has done part time since 1997. He is a state AIG committee member and past treasurer and was past secretary for PESA.
Fiona Makin graduated as a Geologist in 1996 and spent her first 2 1/2 years working as a computer geologist for Perserverance at Fosterville. On completion of her Graduate Diploma in Computer Science, she moved to Switzerland to follow a career as a data architect and web developer. In 2000 she returned to Australia and took up various roles as an IT professional for companies including MYOB and CSL. In 2004 she established MakinITEzy, initially as an IT service provider however, as time has progressed it was recognised that she should also utilise her geology qualifications/skills and she started working on exploration projects with Dr. Rodney Boucher at Linex Pty Ltd. Fiona works on tenement management, community engagement and a range of geological and IT tasks. Fiona also works part time as a practical and tutorial instructor (Geology) at La trobe University, Bendigo
